VIEWER INSTALLATION

This project is about making inconspicuous things in our environment visible.

By blocking parts of our sight a focus on details will arise. It makes visible what otherwise would easily stay unnoticed. By doing this we’ll become more aware of the things that surround us and changes our perception.

The project resulted in a site specific installation attached to a window. It consists of viewers that are pointing at different details in the street.

A striking and somewhat confronting view through one of the viewers is that of a homeless man who settles himself every afternoon at the same spot on the other side of the street. The man is hardly noticed by hurried passers-by.
